looking for more power

I was wondering what would be my best avenue to get power in the 900RPM to 1600RPM range. I am happy with the power in the rest of the RPM range. I have a stock early 99 with K&N and straight pipe with edge EZ. My compressor wheel is somewhat rounded off. I am just looking for more power in the 900-1600rpm range.

I have had cummins diesel dodges that are great in this range but.....I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER DODGE The cummins motors are great but the rest of the truck is made from some type of recycled monkey feces.

Anyway, how can I make my early 99 powerstroke pull hard down low.

make it breathe easier so you can get spoolup a lil faster, maybe some custom tunes vs edge EZ that would make the biggest differenct I would think. If you dont ROD your truck around you could go back down to 3-1/2" exhaust and that would be a little more lower end performance but then you lose a little top end and run a little hotter if turned up more than stock. Im not sure on the right off idle performance, I was thinking the same thing the other day. I think some people do a type of resistor mod and somehow mod the pcm to be faster throttle response.
