MPG

Well, I am new to diesel engine and this is my first PS. It is a 2000 model with 2WD and everything is stock except for the DIY air filter and 20" wheels.

My first tank yields 16.3 miles/gal. This is with 80% city driving and yes I drive like grandpa....no jackrabbit, always keep rpm under 2000.

I don't know if I should be happy with that. My neighbor across the street used to have a 7.3 and he said it made 18 mpg with ease. His was also bone stock 2WD. He now has a 6.0 and wishes he had kept the 7.3...

are both hand calculated? and 16.3mpg on a 7.3L is pretty good... your not going to see much more than that.... as far as suggestions a good chip will maybe give you 1-2mpg more but at least a lot more power... and a tb exhaust... also dont forget about your gauges...
