99 auto trans fluid ?

i have an early 99 with an auto trans. at fluid change does it take dex III or merc v?

NOT AGAIN!!!!! Please use the search engine, look in your owners manual etc..... But to answer your question it only should have Mercon/Dexron III not Mercon V even though Ford is trying to convince people it is okay. If you need the flush procedure use the search engine, I have posted it many times. Oh, you won't find Dexron/Mercon III since it hasn't been manufactured under that name since June of 2007. But Napa has a fluid simply called ATF that is the old Mercon/Dexron III and it is good oil made by Valvoline. PM me with any ?
