dog-gone I love my diesel! For many reasons, but holy mileage batman!

So last tank I was racing the HELL out of this guy at work w/ his '09 duramax. Every night after work for a 5 mile stretch we would race from a dig and from a roll. Non stop. Then I'd be showing off for the old lady (you know when you get in one of those moods where you just want to have fun and drive fast?). I burned about half a tank, maybe a tick or two less, doing this.

Then it hit me.. I barely had fuel for a week and I was burning it up like its free. So I started babying it. I also put in my first treatment of diesel kleen (claims better mileage, but I dunno if it helped or not). So the rest of the tank I babied.

Ended up getting like 525 miles off 32 gallons. Thats about 16.4mpg. And this is all city driving, no highway.

Man I couldn't even get that mileage in my 5.4 fx4 f150 short box single cab when babying it non stop!!

Just one of the reasons I love my diesel.

Great. that 6spd has to help too. I get 14.9 at best so far on my 02 auto. but eh i'll keep logging it haha.

I 100% believe it's all in the transmission. I cant comment what my exact truck but w/ 4x4 and similar mods would look like mileage wise, but in my opinion the only way I could get better mileage would be to get a single cab short box 6spd lol

so urs is a 2x4 and sits on the pavement like a granpas truck hmm youd think it would get better milage..

Sits on the pavement? My 2 wheel drive has more ground clearance than my buddies 2008 silverado and a tick more clearance than my buddies duramax, both of which are 4x4. No it doesn't sit on the pavement like "granpas" truck.

ok pappy you go down to autozone or checker and get you a nice big sticker for ur cute lil truck or maybe even a tune from somewhere if ya got the doe.... oh and remember keep ur loose lips closed if you dont want everyone on the org talkin **** back to you so keep your rude comments to your self...
