Looking to eventually replace the transmission in my 1999 4x4 F250 PSD. I live in Virginia so Brian's Truck Shop and John Woods are too far IMO. I would rather work with a local or semi-local builder. Any suggestions? Again, I understand that BTS and JW make good transmissions.. but I am not using a builder halfway or totally across the dang country. Something like 40 million people live within 5 hours of me, I can't believe not a single one of them can build a decent 4r100.. I just need that guys phone number! Thanks for reading.
There's a place in Chesapeake I believe. Twisted Diesel a good friend of mine had a tranny built for his Cummins there and he loved it. I have never used them myself so I can't say how good they are, and he is the only person I know who has, but he liked his. Just somewhere to check out.
I got my built 48RE for my Dodge Ram from Garmons Diesel Performance out of Atlanta, and I love it. They make a tow 4R100 that'll handle 500WHP and that's what I'll be going with when I get a built trans for the Ford.
Let me know if you are interested as we are back logged about 2-3 weeks.
