beat by chevy 454

OK So 2 points to this thread: complain and ask a question. I was at a buddys house tonight and he has a chevy crew cab long bed up on 40s with a bone stock chevy 454 and auto tranny. We hooked up to play tug-o-war in both his field and the road and he pulled my *** in both! Any ideas? Would you have expected this? My question is: My stack was throwing sparks (bright red like somebody started a fire) and im not sure why. EGTs never got above 850 or so and engine temp was fine. Truck started an hour later like I never beat its *** haha. Any clue? Thanks guys

it was that many sparks? did you check the compressor wheel on the turbo and everything just to make sure that wasnt what it was from, I doubt it would be but that doesnt sound good at all

Hookin trucks is about timing traction and torque, get 2 of those and you win.

As far as the sparks go, IDK for sure, but i know mine did it this weekend as well as a ball of fire, and now it wont start. Started knockin louder and louder when i was lettin cool down, then died. i think an injector when bad.

hahaha if your runing the stock tire size the other guy could of beat you in a tug of war with a 350 chevy. It's simple physics when you hook up to someone with bigger tires his vehicle will lift the back of your vehicle while his vehicle will be pulled down giving him the game of traction. If you want to win a tug of war aginst him put a goosneck ball hitch in your vehicle and tie on to that, I outpulled all the powerstroke guys back in high school with a 6.9IDI diesel because I did just that and no one could ever figure out why.
