Steering problems

today i noticed that the steering on the truck has gotten HARD while its sitting still, not while driving. then while it was in the garage i turned the steering wheel and noticed it would go down about 200-300 RPM.i know this is not normal becouse today was the first day i noticed it.is has always had play in the steering wheel too, but that never worried me till now. what do yall guys think could be my problem.o and its a 1999 f-250

Mine is doing the same thing,I think it is the power steering pump.
