Im looken at a 7.3 4door 8ft bed truck has 178,000 on it an hes looken to 11,000 in the last 40,000 he replaced all 8 injectors brand new trans an converter also truck is a lariet an has an 8in lift with 38s.wanted to know what to look 4 an is this a decent deal.also truck is an 01

01 with 178,000 for 11,000 grand with a new tranny and converter. Sounds like a good deal to me.

The injectors and tranny probably cleared the 4,000 dollar mark by themselves.

If you or someone you know has AE, I would scan it and check the HPOP and run a cylinder contribution test.

In my opinion, the weakest link in the whole truck has already been rebuilt. (The transmission) Ask for proof that it was rebuilt, and if he has proof, buy it. That is a lot of truck for the price. The lift and tires alone would probably cost you 4000 grand or better.

I actually talked to the guy today an I think the hpop went he said there was a puddle of oil under the truck this morning.

Have it looked at by a good diesel tech, these diesels can cost you a lot of money in a hurry. See if he has a maintenance log.
