Most recent one I found..'03 F350...thoughts please.
Ok, another one I found - best one so far, but what do you guys think about it?
'03 F350 167K miles White, XLT, CC, LB, 4x4 12K Warn winch and bumper combo, rancho leveling kit and all rancho shocks, rear and trans Maghytec covers, limited slip, Banks TransCommand, full gauges, 4" exhaust (Banks again), new tires/wheels (from a stock '09), Bighead wastegate actuator, and some other Banks stuff on it. Plus a K&N induction system. Interior is cloth, great condition, everything works like it should. Truck starts and stops fine, shifts fine, trans fluid looks good, engine oil dark as usual, very little leakage underneath - only a couple of drops of oil off the rear of the engine. Max boost is only 20psi (at least that's the most I could get it to). Little blow by. A couple of body dings, but nothing major. Bed is in good condition, didn't have anything slamming around in it. Rear slider window. Power windows, mirrors, door locks, etc. A/C and hear work fine. U-joints still seem tight, and no vibration I could notice. I ran carfax and autocheck on it, they come up with no issues, other than no maintenance records. And I do mean none - nothing from the dealers, etc. Blank slate. But the truck does look like it has been maintained...just no paperwork. I got the dealer (bah, dealers....just bah!) down to 14k, and that's as low as he'll go. I'm leaning towards it - so someone tell me this is a POS and run like hell ...either that, or grab it before someone else does.

Looks like a good truck. Can't comment on price because they vary to much depending on location. Any 7.3 for sale around me doesn't stay up for sale for long!!

Does 2003 model still come in with 7.3 engine? I thought that is the year Ford start installing the troublesome 6.0 into it.

early 03's had the 7.3's in them. my buddys dad had one of the last 5 made and it got stolen and all hacked up and insurance just paid it off now hes got a very nice 05 lol. such a shame for somethin to happen to a truck ike that though

Yeah, from what I hear the split ran like this - F250 7.3 up to '02, F350 7.3 up to '03, F450 7.3 up to '04.
I really wish there were maintenance records on this thing. Idlers and water pump seem tight still, almost like they were replaced. Durned thing is 15.7k off the lot, gotta love those state taxes. Decisions decisions. |

I'm still waiting on the salesdrone to get back to me with an oasis report, but it's been a day and no call back. Must really want to sell this truck.....

Looks like I'll be getting this truck, unless I get a bad oasis report. It's close enoyh to what I wanted. A compromise, but I can't afford to spend months finding another work truck.

If it has the 7.3, seems like price is within reason. It could have the 6.0, if so, I'd stay away from it.

Sounds like a great truck IMHO. Has a lot of aftermarket stuff that you could keep or sell and make some $$$ back. The only downside of that 7.3 is the PM rods. Not a problem if you just plan on the basic mods that most run. Even heavily modded it would "probably" be fine if the tune is good. I would buy it.

LOL....while I was at the Ford dealer getting an oasis on the truck, just to double check it - received a call from the sales guy. Someone else bought it as soon as they saw it.
Heh. Search goes on. |
