hpop's interchangable?
Just curious, do they all fit each others years?I know the 85 is a 15# the newer ones a 17# (I think) But if installed would they work in the others years? Or must it be specific? reason I ask is I have a reman one in my truck. I did not buy it or order it. I have no clue if its the right one. I was wondering if it was not what would it do or could it do?
thx |

15* will work in place of the 17*.....the trucks not gonna like it, due to the lower oil pressure of the 15* hpop.

thx, I bought a new hpop gasket today and it had a different gasket. They told me at the dealer the one i took out was wrong. The upper hole in the pump drivers side had no internal gasket area so it could leak down into the gear area. It got me thinking, was my reman pump thats installed the right one? Probably is. The gaskets were real similar on the outer edge(keeping out any external leaks). The upper oil galley is closed off on the new one. Not the hole but around it(keeping it from leaking internally). Anyway I cant explain, i will see in the morning if its still full
