I'm sure this has been discussed. I used the search function and couldn't find so here goes. Please link to post if you can. I read that the early 99 7.3 IDM used a much lower voltage than the ones after it. Recommended upgrading to a later model IDM for better injector performance. Just wanted to check here and verify that information. Also I have looked around and some vendors want you VIN, mileage, transmission type etc.... is all of that necessary or can you take any 99-03 7.3 IDM and plug it in and go? Thanks for help
my opinion is,
if you don't know what they do, you don't need it LOL
I do know that different IDM's have different voltages, and the higher voltage ones arnt very cheap.
but I don't know exactly what they do.
I bought this one last year, and it lasted 6 months of driving.
finally got the truck together and it threw a IDM fault code.
there are people that modify these, but unless youre racing the truck, youll never need it.
sticl with stock ford items unless youre creating a real monster
for some reason its not letting me upload the pic of my aftermarket IDM
