Did I just screw up?
I did a full engine fluid change on my 99 7.3l today. I bought the coolant at napa and they were about out on the shelves. I told the guy at the counter that I needed green prestone coolant for my truck. I just packed it up and headed out without really looking at it. Well I drained the rad and poured in the first bottle. It was kind of light green not like the darker green stuff I drained. Didn't think too much more about it and topped it off + added the VC-8 addative. Now I'm sitting here and surfing the forum and came across a maintenace sticky by Marc saying to never use "compatible with any color" coolant. I dug a bottle out of the recycle and sure enough it says new formula mix with any color coolant! Do I need to drain and start over
?Thanks, Michael |

I believe Marc is refering to the new "orange/gold" coolant in the 6.0's. You shouldn't mix the "mix with any color" with it. You should be fine though. Your truck should have had the green to start with and I believe you can mix it with the green just not the orange/gold.

Thanks for the info Ricky. That'll make me sleep better tonight. Now that I re-read the post I see what he meant.
