trans fluid Mercon and merconV

Im betting this one has been answered before but i have to ask for my buddy

I know of the ford TSB saying you can use the mercon v in the 4r100 but he is about a quart low on his and has the regular mercon in it can you mix them or does he have to have his tranny flushed

Im pretty positive its compatible with the regular mercon I will see what I can find!

I wouldn't use Mercon 5 in there at all.

there is a tsb saying that you can use it because ford isnt supplying the regular mercon...But it doesnt say if you can mix or not

the latest blend of motocraft brand mercon 5 is compatable with mercon.....and can be mixed...i cant garantee the blending of any non motocraft merc 5 though....

dont worry about ford tsb just get your hands on 5 gallons of Amsoil universal ATF and your worries and confusion are LONG GONE :drive:
