I've been looking at a 99 F250 locally for a while.
It has 200k on the body, 140 ish on the motor and 44k on a new BTS transmission.
S366 borg warner turbo
5" exhaust
custom intake
irate diesel kit
BTS Trans
250/100 injectors
T500 oil pump
studs
springs
fuel system
navigation
remote start
HID's
Brand new tires, shocks, front brakes and batteries
Clear coat is fading, real bad especially on the roof. Drivers seat leather is wrecked/torn, cruise doesn't work and will need ball joints pretty soon.
10-15k esp if they have no proof of engine or trans. Unless you are gonna do the ball joints its gonna be over a grand I can almost garuntee it with parts and labor, plus a 99 was an odd year. you can have a early/late build engine and a early/late build front suspension.
my 99 has the late build engine and early build front suspension.
got any pictures? be Leary of all the do it yourselfers... can't tell you how many "rebuilt transmissions" on a truck got me screwed royally. or the whole "its got a locker in the rear" and they welded the spider gears lol...
It's not that $8000 sounds good or bad, it's only reasonable if the truck runs, will pass inspection, has a clear title, and if you can afford to fix it up after the $8000. Take someone that knows trucks with you.
Way to many variables to deal with. With all those mods and other issues. I'd stay away unless you're getting it on the cheap because you'll need the savings to put back into it.
