Gauges going wild, need help

HI Guys

I have problems with my 02 PSD. The gauges start to cut out and keep doing this constantly. They just go wild. It seems like the nonstop recalibrate themselfs. As well the radio and the interior dome lights (if door is open) come on and off. I checked the batteries, voltage and so on and on....... Everything seems to be o.k. I pulled the codes and and cleared them again. No change.
Codes: 1690,0562. It drives me crazy and on top of it the gauges are most of the time not even functionell anymore. When they cut out, I can hear a Relay
clicking behind the dash.
I would appreciate any hint or help.

Thanks Adrian

Moved this over to the right spot for you to get more responses to your question.

I had the same problem with my 99, turned out to be a bad alarm system I had put in. When the alarm was disconnected it stopped doing it. That may be the same for you. It could also be from jump starting vehicles with your truck, possibly blowing out the diodes in the alternator. If that is the case, you may find the truck going dead overnight as well from a short in the alternator. Hope that helps.

Gord.

Check wiring on aftermarket stuff. Seen it before bad ground.
Also check for loose fitting fuses for the cluster. Wiggle the fuse and see if the cluster goes on/off.
