Angry Turbo ChatChatChat

Has anyone had the turbo chatter with the garrett powermax bb turbo at the same rpm range as the surge starts, I spoke with Bill at STC performance and he feels I may be sucking up the air filter or sucking up the silicone boot that come with the Turbo same one that come with the turbonetic ballbuster.

I have the volante cold air intake, bd performance trans complete with triple lock torque converter lrg, sump, banks power elbow, blocked off ebpv, cranked down wastegate, 4" exhaust from turbo outlet to tip, edge evolution, boost juice (snow performance)

2002 lariat 4x4 crew, Garret GP38R BB Turbo, snow performance stage 2, rough county level kit, hewllig overloads, firestone air bags w/auto pump, DP 7 position custom program chip, banks power elbow, cat 4" exhaust,deleted EPBV pedestal, banks 6.0 technicooler, bd custom trans w/ triple lock t/c, bd presure loc, bd torc loc, bd turbo timmer, ford V-10 trans cooler, Zoodad Mod, DIY intake w/ napa fltr, triple gage pod, dyno-mite 530 hybrid injectors 125HP, blue cps sensor.

You have surge is what you have, I am on my 3rd GTP-38r. Garret is working with me to get the surge to stop, this one is better but still needs a little more tweak.

01 F-250 SC PSD,320k,16 Isspro Gauges, AFE-2,CCV Mod,IAH delete,map reg,Modded H2e, 6.0 IC, 230/100 from P.I.S, Studs, 910 springs, Forged rods, Water injection,Hydra chip-No Limit/Gearhead tuning, Swamps HVHF IDM, MBRP 4" dual's, Aero, 6" tip's, 4" Revtek lift, 37/12.5/16.5 MT's

What is garrett doing for you to stop the surge and I hope there not charging anything. I think I'm going to reinstall my turbonetic at least it didn;t surge and hopfuly they will return my call I made to them in regaurds to changing out the wheel so I would have that low end.

They are working on it... I too have a turbonetics turbo, I have a .84 housing that helped the spool alot! But the Backpressures were too high for me with the injectors. I am going to have bell turbo go thru it and see if he can work some magic on it with the 1.0 exhaust housing
