I noticed that my OEM 1999 (1/99) power steering cooler was somewhat smaller and made of cast aluminum VS. the 2000 or so and up finned aluminum larger cooler. Was this an upgrade that I should look into swapping out?
I guess depending where it was built or what was in the box as they went by on assembly line was what you got. Mine is cast, I guess it'll do the same as any other type cooler.
A take-out 7.3 transmission cooler would be a huge up-grade as a P/S cooler. I still have mine, and haven't thrown it out yet, but I don't plow or do a lot of maneuvering at low speed so I doubt I'd benefit from more P/S cooling.
True, I still have mine as well but do mostly highway driving and minimal local that wouldn't require any larger cooler for that.
