So my truck is about to become my DD.
My f250 has oil comsumption. I have changed the external o-rings in all. But the truck is still consuming oil, maybe like 2 gallons a week if driven about 200 miles or maybe less. On the highway it is way less. The damn thing starts, runs, and drives great. Starts right up, hardly any white smoke during start up.
How can I tell which injectors are consuming/passing oil?
Any recommended injector companies that sell or rebuild them?
I would check the fuel bowl as well, to see if it is an external injector o-ring issue.
The only real way to see what injectors are having issues is to get them flow tested. If you have a bunch of miles on the injectors, you would be better off just getting them re-maned at this point.
I used alliant o-rings.
Fuel bowl does not look very dirty, fuel is clear, but there is a light coating on the bowl, but not enough to suspect oil passing through. Does not look like oil. I'll take a pic and post it later today.
The mileage on the engine is 255xxx, not sure about the injectors.
Normally, when you are not sure of the mileage on the injectors, you just have to assume they are original.
At 255k, it would be very likely that the injectors are worn and have issues. I would say if your compression is good, you can say with quite a bit of certainty that the injectors are the reason for your oil consumption.
Yup, I agree. More than likely the injectors are worn out.
