Squeaky rearend on 02 F350.

Recently I've noticed a very loud, very annoying squeaking coming from the rear of my truck when I put it in reverse.

It's an 2002 F350 crew cab long bed PSD. Truck has 71.5k miles on it.

The sound is like some kind of mix between scratching finger nails on a chalkboard and some rubber on rubber squeak.

Have you checked the U-Joints lately. Just hold the driveshaft in one hand and the yolk or other drive shaft in the other and try to twist them in different directions...if there is any play at all in them they are bad...they can move up and down slightly but when you twist them they should not have any play.

im still leaning toward u-joint cause ive seen a few u-joints that only squeek in reverse. the squeak added to a grinding sound tells me that there may be a u-joint...but time will tell.

I aggree with the u-joints, but I also want to through in the carrier bearing on the driveshaft as well as a possibillity. I suggest checking all u-joints, carrier bearing, and lubing the bushings on the leaf springs and shocks.
