My solution to hard starting.....
Hey guys, after all the help that has been given to me on here, I figured I would try and return some. This may have been covered before and it's pretty obvious, but I couldn't see the forest for the trees. I was having a hard starting problem but for me it was only when it had sat for a while....overnight or 8 hours at work. It would crank slow and not want to fire unless I cycled the key again. THought for sure my glowplug relay was bad because it's been a little colder lately. So last night right at closing I go to the auto parts store and get a new one. (Couldn't check it, my wife loaned out my multi-meter...but that is another story) Anyway, as I am leaving they close and lock the door. Guess what, truck won't crank at all. Had to leave my truck overnight.
Changed the starter this morning and holy **** does it crank A LOT faster than before. I guess it just started cranking slower a little at a time and I never noticed until I got the new one in there. Starts like a dream now. Anyway, just sharing a little bit of my experience. Sorry it is so long. Thanks again.-Aaron |

Congrats on fixing the problem.
For me it is usually something such as this that I overlook. I posted about mine running batteries down, thought I needed new batteries. Then I learn on here that the glow plugs DON'T stop glowing when the "wait to start" light goes out. I let it glow for 30-45 secs and she fires just as if it were 80 degrees outside so... money saved for batteries. That's why a premium membership is worth every cent. Another free plug for "THE FORUM"!! Rob
