Brians Truck Shop
No they're not close (Arkansas I think), but they do build some great, stout auto trannies. I think they specialize in your specific tranny too IIRC. Is your tranny toast, or just having a couple issues? I didn't think about that when I posted earlier (just assumed considering the year). If its not toast, then BTS isn't really worth the hassle, but if it is, then BTS will be able to rebuild to do whatever you want. |

I'm out of Ogden as well. Just go to BTS.. that is what I am going to do as well. The best place I could find here local (rebuild wise)was a shop out of SLC and that trans is now slipping and I had it done in April. Save yourself some trouble and go to BTS. If you NEED to stay local for a replacement Bakers Diesel in West Haven will put a Suncoast in for you, but that will cost about $300 more than a BTS will.

Trans just had been acting up latly. specifically heating up when towing a little 19 travel trailer. 7 mile steep grade got up to 260* on my evolution guage. So i had someone else finish the pull. Temp went down to 225* remainder of road. Temp is normal ranges everyday driving. But since that trip, I had OD light flash a few times. Also the first time I saw a OD flash, the speedometer would not move. Hasnt happened since. No slippage or any other signs/symptoms with tranny. Runs fine other than that. Im keeping EVOlution on stock setting untill I figure out the problem. Im going to check spped sensors, vent line, in line trans filter and any other suggestions. BTY 1999 F-250 trans I think that 400 something rather, 90k miles original trans.

BTS Group buy?
I'm also in the ogden area and in need of a new tranny. currently contemplating a 4r100HD from ford but only because my neighbor is a ford diesel mech at one of the local dealers and can get me a deal.
What is a BTS going to cost a guy? has anyone here run the HD 4r100, any thoughts on those? |

welcome to the site, glad to see more members from Utah. I have heard nothing but good things about Bakers Diesel, A guy i work with swears by them. other than that, I wouldnt know as i havent had tranny troubles yet.. (knock on wood!!)
By the way, not intending to hijack this thread, this is off topic, check out the Utah members forum, it will list any get togethers we have there. |
