Recon Door Sill Kit

I am trying to decide how to spend the $50 gift certificate I won at SSS this year. I have looked at the Recon door sill kits since they came out, but I have a question, I have asked Recon several times but they don't respond with a answer. You know the factory sill plates have a raised circular pattern to them, the Recon plates appear to just screw down on top of the factory sill plate. If this is true than it will leave small holes or crevices for crap to get stuck underneath the Recon sill plate and not something I want. I also don't think it will look very good with these gaps around the edges. If anyone has a set of these and can post up some close up pics of how they look installed I would really appreciate it. Or if you have seen them installed and remember what they looked like, but a photo would be best, if possible. Thanks for the help.

We have a set installed.
Yes they do install on top of the factory plates. I thought that was a little cheesy but they turned out pretty good.

Thanks for the pics, is there a rubber weather stripping around the perimeter of the sill? Can you show a close up of where the sill meets the factory sill, that would be awesome?

We will take closer pictures hopefully tomorrow. They do not have the rubber seal, they just screw down right on top.

Thanks man, it looks from the photo like there is a seal, that is why I asked. If they just sit ontop doesn't this create small voids where crap can get stuck?

The black part you see at the bottom is the bottom part of the sills.
There is no rubber seal at all. Yes it does leave room for dirt and crap to get in. They are not quite as nice as I thought they would be. Sorry I didn't get a pic today, we were drag racing all afternoon just got back.

I have a set. They are the black ones, with the blue EL. I only have the driver side installed though. They are decent quality, not that great, and don't fit all that well. They look pretty neat at night though, and I have received compliments on the one I have installed Hey Mike, where did you wire in your passenger side one?

I installed them but didn't hook up the wiring yet
It's on my to do list.
