Rear Cover Upgrade
Well I wanted to change the rearend fluid before winter and thought why not upgrade the cover. So I did. I didn't want a aluminum one because my luck I would back over something and crack it. So I got a steel one, 1/2" thick bolt surface and 1/4" on the rest of the cover. It's not bad. Got it off ebay for $110 shipped and it was $150 for the Royal Purple 75w-140 and 12 point stainless arp bolts. It came raw steel and I painted with a black hammer finish. Only dislikes are the cover doesn't cover the whole surface of the cover sealing area, and the fill hole being on the top right instead of the middle right. I just made a dipstick out of a piece of coat hanger to check it. I over did the RTV not realizing it wasn't going to cover the whole surface.
Only problem now is the rest of the rearend looks like crap. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
