Door locks not working...

I haven't taken everything apart yet but I was wondering if any of yall have had this problem. I just got my superduty a few weeks ago and the door locks don't want to lock or unlock with the power lock button. They do however sound like the actuators are trying to work but they just don't have enough power to lock and unlock the doors. I'm thinking I just need to get new actuators but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem and found it to be something other than the actuators? I had power locks in both of my OBS's and they were both strong as hell and never gave me any problems like this. The guy that owned it before me said they worked for a few weeks when he first got it and then quit...any input would be great!

mine did the same thing i just replaced them and they work fine now

Some repair their old ones by using aluminum foil, not my kind of repair. The new actuators are much stronger. I would replace all of them while you are at it. Powerstrokeshop.com has the best prices on them. Last ones I bought were $43 each.

I'm going to try the aluminum foil trick first and if that doesn't work, I'll probably just buy new ones. It sounds like I'm having the same problem though so I'll keep yall posted if it works out...

I did the foil fix on all 4 that were not working when I got my truck. 3 of the 4 are still working fine 2 years later and one of them is starting to fail again. Guess ill just have to replace that one!

Foil and Coat hangers and duct tape aren't my way or repairing things. Sorry, glad it worked for some of y'all though.

What is the foil fix and how do you do it? My passenger side lock dont work now.

Cheapest ones I found were on AM-Auto Parts. Seemed kind of a fishy site. No phone or anything but 45 for a pair of door lock actuators. Got em in the mail a week later in Ford OEM boxes. Worked wonderfully.
