To each their own, I prefer the straight pipe myself

I will be the odd ball and say the BTM. I don't like engine noise like I did when I was young, now I want to hear my tunes!!! The BTM has the sound your looking for, really noticeable when driving next to walls or large buildings, not something I do a lot of, but it sounds cool. I have done some experiments and there is less than a 50 degree difference, more like 25 degrees and it isn't consistent, between the two. If and when Emissions laws are past a muffler will be required, in many states all vehicles on the road must have a muffler, pay now or pay later, don't matter to me.

Straight pipe as long as you have a "friend" who can inspect the truck for you during inspection. Just can't beat the whistle of the straight pipe.

live in florida, no inspection. if it has insurance and tag, they don't care. if i go straight pipe i will keep my muffler and if things ever change down here i'll just run my striagt pipe through my muffler and weld it. i thought i wanted BTM but after whatching you tube the stright pipe sounded more like the truck i saw rather then the BTM. how loud is the striaght pipe compared to a 5.0 with say flow masters? i would figure EGTs would be lower striaght but would i lose any low end?

I agree! I have the BTM on mine also. I liked the sound of no muffler at first but after a while its just too much.
