I say btm, it takes the cackle and hiss sounds out and produces a smooth mellow tone.

There is less than a 50 degree difference between the BTM and straight piped, it is actually less than 25 most of the time and there are way to many variables to account for 25-50 degrees.

I straight piped mine about a month ago. I hate it. I feel like my truck sounds like a pile of crap now. It's not that it's really to loud... it just cackles and has a sharp fluttering sound. I am looking into getting the btm this weekend.

I have a 2000 F350 straight piped turned out in front of the rear tires and it sounds KILLER. I have no other mods yet and it almost sounds the same inside the cab when the windows are up but when down you hear a SWEET turbo whistle thru the pipe at low rpms. I also have a 1994 GT 5.0 with big tube headers and no cats 2-1/2 pipes out the back with flowmasters. The car is way louder to ride around in. I take the truck on trips and noise inside with the windows up is not a factor
