Trans fluid

I know this has been talked about a lot but going over those discussions just makes my head hurt. Regardless of what people have said I still want to go full synthetic in my transmission when I put my 6.0 cooler, new pan and FTVB in. The fluid I want to get is AMSOIL ATF. It says it will work in Ford MERCONŽ & MERCON V applications but not for CVT or Ford Type F applications... What does this mean? Can I put this stuff in my 4R100 or not?

I understand some people do not like thier products but would I be able to use a fluid that says it will work in Ford MERCONŽ & MERCON V applications but not for CVT or Ford Type F applications?

I will leave my opinion out of it and simply answer your question. The fluid you are looking at is what you want for the 4R100. Hope it works out for you.

Sweet thank you very much, happy to hear that I can run this fluid. My dad is looking at an 02 and the trans in that truck shifts 100x better than mine, jumps off the line better than mine too... Hope the work im about to do to mine makes it better.

You do know the 2001 had the dreaded mech diode problem? If your truck locks up in 1st or 2nd you will know why!!!

I know nothing about this "dreaded mech diode problem"... Can someone fill me in?

Driving my dads 2002 has made me realize how much work I need on my 2001 trans.
