Torque Converter?

Hey Guys I have a '99 f-250 (10/98) auto, when the converter is locked up and I roll on the throttle I can hear a loud groan from the tranny area. It also has trouble locking up, the motor will start to rev down and then level off and then rev down until the converter is locked. I recently installed an SCT program and noticed it, did not notice it on stock settings, transmission shifts great. As mentioned symptoms are only present in lock up and with the programmer. Is it the converter?

it could be the converter but how long ago did you install the tuning...your computer may be trying to relearn the shift strategy which can take a while...your transmission will do some wierd stuff when it is trying to learn.
