weird start up problem
hey guys on my 01 f350, if i let the truck sit over night and go to start it i have to hold the pedal down and kinda rev it as soon as i start it if not it will idle rough for maybe 20 secs then cut off and when it does it takes me atleast 5 minutes or so to get it started back up. but once that happens and i get it giong it runs great for the rest of the day. i already did the little rebuild kit for the fuel pressure regulator and i have replaced my fuel filter and glow plug relay along with glow plugs not to long ago. it was running and starting fine and then all the sudden it started doing this....

Could be IPR hard to say.Do you change the oil regularly?

yes i keep it changed regularly, the previous owner was horrible with maintnence so im trying to keep up with it to make it last

do you have access to a scan tool to see what the ICP and duty cycles are in the mornings?
You could have bad injector orings allowing oil to bleed by.You could have a sluggish injector.You could have an IPR problem.Something oil related especially if you have taken care of the GP's

no i dont have access to a scan tool i got a auto zone scanner but it wont read my truck, i hope its not the injectors or injector o-rings because they only have about 10k miles on em since rosewood rebuilt em

Well that would eliminate the injectors not entirely but should rule them out.
IPR I don't know how to test it other than just swap it.The darn things are around 180 bucks.You could check and make sure the nut is up against the magnet.Make sure the plug isn't loose.

yeah i checked that when i bought the little rebuild kit from international they have for the IPR i didnt wanna spend the money to buy a whole new one, the truck run great and i thought i had it all ixed now out of the blue it just started happening every time the truck sits for atleast 8 or more hours i can start it up and drive it 10 miles and let it sit for 2 or 3 hours and it starts right up but if it sits over night i gotta rev it up as soon as i start it or it will cut off and take for ever to start back
