Hello all,
I just recently purchased my first PowerStroke! I have an 02' F-350 Crew cab long box. Has a 6" Pro Comp lift with 38'' Toyo MT's under it. The truck is PERFECT. Only has 109k on the ticker and runs great! My only beef with it is that the font end is a little loose. I do have some questions however..... *Being that it's a 7.3L, what 'lubricant' additives should I be adding to the fuel to help keep my fuel system runing smoothly? I have a friend who's had a 95' 7.3 since he bought it new. He states that with this ultra low sulfer diesel that I'll need a lubricating additive. 'He' says he uses tranny fluid. Some cheap stuff from wal-mart, and it works fine..... ![]() *Also, I'm in Lacey, WA right now for business, and I have the truck here with me. ANYONE know of an alignment shop in the area that can handle a larger vehicle like this? When I'm done with work here in Lacey, I'm driving it back home to AK. So I'd REALLY like to get that taken care of before the journey. I'll have pics posted later today. I lost my damned cable from my camera to my computer.....DOH!! ![]() Thanks for any help guys. I'm so pumped about this rig...it's amazing. Ever since I picked it up EVERY where I go I get complements..You'll see what I mean when I post up some picks Again, thanks to all, and take it easy.... |

Don't use Tranny Fluid
use standadyne or Diesel Kleen. I like Standadyne you have to order it but i live 5 min from schieds and can get it regularly I hate Diesel Kleen. Made my truck run like junk. Not Sure on a shop but usual a place that works on Big Trucks (Tri-Axles,Tandems) will know of a place |

Thanks Goose,
It threw me off a little when he suggested Tranny Fluid....BUT...he's been doing it for years now, and it runs fine....I gotta do more research on it. I'll check out Standadyne as well. I found a rig shop here in town, I'm going to swing by later today. Doubt they'll be open on a sunday, but we'll see. Thanks again. |

I just throw in a few ounches of ashless two stroke oil. My injectors really seem to like it.

No Doubt. 2 Stroke stuff isn't that cheap anymore, not even at Wal-Mart. Plus it doesn't treat the fuel for anti-gelling in the cold months.
I don't like Diesel Kleen either but I've got a full jug left that I'm gonna finish off before ordering some Stanadyne, or maybe even some AmSoil additive. It seems to be priced fairly too. |
