Turbo/intercooler question

I am taking a intercooler boot off to see if i whine is coming from my turbo or not. So i have it off now do i have to plug it or is it okay to run it the way it is?

is this whine at high boost only? if it is my guess is that your boots are leaking around the piping.

Yeah you can pull off the boots, intercooler tubes, pull off the intake and just let the turbo sit there and blow at idle...
