Started with the Dieselsite kit, but the valve started leaking after sitting 6mo while on deployment. Replaced it with a heater core valve for a 96 ranger and have had no leaks yet.

It is a worthwhile mod, and you could probably do it for $30 if you acquire all the parts yourself. Other versions of the mod include using a manual ball valve or a solenoid to electronically control the valve.

I put a ball valve on mine to force the coolant into my heat loop for my veggie setup. I did not notice any change in the air coming out with the core bypassed.
