What are the signifucant differances between the early 99 and the 99.5-2003 motors? Are proformance parts just as accesable for them as the 99.5-2003? Quick responce would be great!! Thanks

Late 99 - bigger turbo from early99 and therefore different y-pipe collector and pedistal

late 99 - 17* HPOP compared to weak-a$$ 15* pump on early 99

I THINK 01.5 (someone correct if I'm wrong) went from Forged steel connecting rods to Powdered Metal connecting Rods.

The injectors could be different too. I'm not 100% sure, my 2000 has AE's.

Early:
120cc injectors
Bigger Turbo (not a typo)
15* HPOP

Late:
140cc injectors
Smaller turbo (not a typo)
17* HPOP

Other small difference which deal with other parts around these main ones. These are the main differences.

Well the late 99's have a 3" holes instead of the 2" on the late 94 through early 99.

Early 99 does not use an OBS turbo housing. Same as the late model turbo housing, just smaller. OBS had a 1.15 A/R non-wastegated exhaust housing, SD exhaust housing is 0.84 A/R wastegated.
