Throttle response: psd vs 12v

This might seem like an odd question. But I'm trying to figure out of my throttle response is normal for my truck or not. Putting on a new filter helped a LOT, this trucks throttle response doesn't seem like like a lot of diesels I have driven.

My buddy can rev his '96 12v in such a way that the throttle response is so crisp and fast, he can make it seem like his truck has a big *** lope and the whole truck rocks from the torque.

Now my psd just revs smooth and high relatively easy.. even if I only give it a little throttle is still revs up high, as opposed to giving the 12 throttle and it would only rev up a few hundred R's or whatever.

Is this normal or am I just crazy?

Matt
