Here we go again!!!! The 4R100 takes Mercon/DexronIII, no Mercon V, even though Ford now says it is ok to use. There has been no reformulation of the MerconV so don't fall for that BS. Your owners manual strictly says NOT TO USE MERCON V IN THE 4R100!!! Mercon V is the same today as it was in 2000. You can still get Mercon/Dexron III at Napa, they call it simply ATF, but it is the old Mercon/Dexron III fluid. You will need 18-20 quarts to do a proper flush.
