Q's about my 2000 7.3. HELP!!!!!

i have a 2000 7.3 with a 100 horse edge evolution and everytime my truck shifts it will about break your neck. IS THIS NORMAL????!!??? its as if it almost barks the tires. it just doesnt feel like it can be any good? also what can i really add on to this truck to make it GO! like best chip,intake,etc. THANKS Guys! Also when i lay into the gas the back end stands up FAR and when i let off it drops, how can a fix this? 1 Last thing, when i turn my front end is making a screeching noise? Thanks 2 your Help,

Sounds like to me you have a tranmission somewhere. It should never ever be a rough shift.

You need traction bars for the rear end hop with those big tires and the rear springs blocked up

Also sounds like you need a power steering pump. AFE stg 2 intake or Tymar DIY kit for an intake. Staight pipe for exhaust. There are many good shift kits out there. Different chips or tunners do different things to your transmission shift points and line pressure. You could try a shift kit and see if that helps. Traction bars will help with wheel hop. Maybe this will get ya fixed up.

I ran the Evo for about a year before switching to DP Tuner, I loved it, and still have it. It shifted hard, nothing wrong with that, it helps reduce slipping... it will change with your driving style, the easier you take off, the smoother the shift, you mash it, then hang on!!

does it hesitate or hang before the shift?

its smooth when no foot into it but when i lay into it, it shifts really hard. its a little slow changing but when it does its almost as if it locks in and its GONE!

farmboy u like that dp better than your edge? Also What does a shift kit do? i thought a shift kit made it shift hard? If so i DONT need 1.lol. I just want smooth shifts, even if hard shifts are better, Smooth shifts are nicer! lol Thanks

Sounds to me like a torgue converter problem....premature lockup. I guess it could be the programmer but I don't think the Edge has any tranny manipulation in it.

2003 6.0 F350 dually on high cholesterol fuel (WVO)
2000 7.3 Excursion also on a high cholesterol fuel

yea my edge isnt pose to mess with any shift points, trans....etc., I just had the trans rebuilt with a multi disk torque convertor. ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???
