tranny flush?
i just bought my truck and it has 93k miles on it...... at 65k, ford did a tranny flush.....
Since i am getting a big tranny cooler soon i was thinking of changing out the oil on the tranny while i was at it..... is a full flush recommended? should i just drop the pan and just do that an the tranny filter? or? .... what would be a good recommendation thanks in advance -Victor |

The local oil change place would not do mine with 70,000 miles on it. Said it might do more harm than good.

4r100
Assuming it is a 4R100, my manual says it should be done at 60K. The 4R100 is a balancing act in itself as stock. Will not take 'extreme mods to engine' w/o trouble of some kind. If your 'pulling hvy wt' like me then you change at earlier miles. Since ford changed it (flushed) at 65k I would definitely change the filter while changing the fluid.
Just my .02 worth Have a good day! |
