Just sold my 01 ecsb gasser and looking for a ccsb 7.3 auto. Found one that looks good but it needs a motor. I have a complete wrecked manual truck to pull from with 168k on it and forged rods.
Is there any difference between the actual engine between an auto and a manual?
I should have made an account long ago as I am on here almost everyday just havnt posted yet.
The flywheel and flexplate are what made me ask. I was looking at zf6 swaps and was reading that people were changing them out and wasnt sure if there were different flywheels.
The truck im looking at buying still has the motor in it so i am going to be able to use all the auto harnesses and everything like that.
Going to take a look at the truck tomorrow afternoon and possibly tow it home.
Does the flexplate have to be swapped out or is it just straight a drop in
Went and looked at the truck, going back to pick it up on Wednesday.
Truck is a 2000 f350 ccsb white and silver 2 tone almost rust free, wheel wells cab corners and doors/rockers are perfect.
Going to start a build thread on it once it gets to my house.
You'll need to swap the flex plate, the spacer attached to the crankshaft (behind the flex plate), and the engine to bellhousing spacer onto the engine that had the manual. One other point is that the engine to bellhousing alignment pins are shorter on an engine that's in front of a manual transmission. I believe they're 7/16" diameter.
