New Purchase help???

hey guys, i am looking at a very clean 02 supercab 250 4x4, 173k on it, texas truck, its idle is a little rough, and is blowing some blue smoke, but it has lots of power and very sensitive to the footfeet, should i run away, she sure looks sweet and seems to still have tons of power left. think i can get her out the door for 12k. Thanks.

how much would a ringjob cost me, everything that i have seen under 200k on the speedo and not beat up has been high teens, so was thinking that with the savings might could get her to last another yr or 2 then do a ring job.

Correction to smoke

wife says that the smoke was more white than blue, does that make much of a difference?

If it's just a little at start up I wouldn't worry about it, like stump says go premium and get an oasis report on it, gives you more info to play with, and might save your butt on a problem truck, when the price is that low you have to check and find out why.

If you go premium as in a premium membership you can go to the premium members forum and there is a thread for an oasis request. Post up the vin number and you will get an email with a maint history report on that vehicle. It will only show the history done at the dealerships.

And I believe that history also includes any major body and frame work done by Ford as well, so if it's been in a major accident, and repaired by a dealership, it will tell you as well.
