Did I get screwed?
I had a #2 injector failure a few weeks ago. I had it towed to a shop and this is what I paid. I did not request the glow plugs and the valve covers were replaced 2 months ago.
8 Glow Plugs $200 2 VC $192 Injector $361 Towing $95 Labor $600 Diagnostic $120 Is this a little high? |

why did they replace the valve covers? arent those supposed to be pretty much a permanent part of the engine unless they get damaged?? All the cars I've ever had I have never had to replace the valve covers.

Glowplugs you can get for about 10 bucks a piece or if you look around, sometimes cheaper.

I found glowplugs for 50 buck on ebay, motorcraft plugs
Diagnostic and labor looks right VC gaskets pretty high there, plus like said before they are reusable unless yours were brittle I still cant believe they charge that much to pull injectors, even at 100 an hour it doesnt take 6 hours to pull and put them in. |
