turbo flutter questions

OK

so I believe I have turbo flutter and am concerned about destroying my turbo. It only does it when pulling a good grade and I'm towing with my foot into it because I like to dust people when I pass them. Maybe that's the biggest fix I have but don't like.

I am not a person who dumps tons of money into my truck. It's a daily driver plus my off road huntin and fishin truck so it has to be reliable.

What are the fixes? Please explain your guess on costs also. I'm mechanically inclined to do the fixes.

thanks

There are several post in here about turbo surge which will come up in the search function. Yes, surge will eventually destroy your turbo if not corrected (mine's really bad pulling my 27' Starcraft with the tuner in 3). Basically, you have a couple of options (at least the cheapest);

The cheapest is to keep your foot out of it and just let those people pass!! Or, you could upgrade to a Wicked Wheel or ported housing (ATS, Banks, etc...). Each may give negligable performance boosts but will cure the surge, and costs a few hundred bucks each, plus your labor (not hard to do; again, use the search function to find out how).
