Good news and BAD news

well as most of you know i had my trans go out on my 02.... well i just got it installed last night and test drove it... I LOVE IT. shifts PERFECT and couldnt be happier.....

now for the bad news..... last night on one of my test runs i was accelerating moderatly and all of a sudden BOOM!!!!!! loss of power no boost and lots of black smoke.... thought i blew a boot off, no big deal... got home and started looking around but didnt notice anything, i called it a night and would look at it the next day. well i look at it today and take all the boots off to inspect them... one is wore pretty good but not all the way thru. none of the boots blew off or torn. so i keep looking around and then i notice.... oil leaking out of the exhaust side of the turbo.... pull the intake tube off and sure enough the wheel is rubbing and shaft play..... (i guess 38 PSI out of the stocker is tooo much...)

well i have a 38R that will be here in the morning (thanks to DPP) i wasnt planning to do a 38r (want to to a mod H2E) but not enough time and i gotta get this thing on the road. so i should have it back up tomorrow night... here are some pics...

Good news is you can rebuild that stock turbo with all the upgrades. Sell it for what you can to get some money back out of the 38 you got.

i would but not enough time... im just gonna send it back for a core

the 38r is now sitting at my house, not bad for ordering it at 4:00 PM yesturday (and it came out of california)... now if only this day at work would get over...

i really didnt want to go with the 38r... i have been wanting to do the H2E setup but now i dont have the time.... so the 38r will do for now... also thinking about leaving work early to go and put it in...
