Got Shaft Play?

Well i was bored today so i decided to pull the intake and all out and check my turbo, since i have never done this. Well i have a little bit of play, about 1/8 inch i guess. How much play if too much? My warrenty runs out next month so im wondering if i would be able to get a new turbo out of this before my warrenty ends or is 1/8 inch nothing to worry about? thanks

your 7.3 is still under warranty?? When you lift the wheel to its highest or lowest point of its play and you turn it, does it scuff at all? If it doesn't scuff it shouldn't be a problem.

i have an aftermarket warranty. i kinda hoping the turbo would go before my warranty ended because i know the guy that does my warranty work and i was going to pay him the difference to just put that money towards an aftermarket turbo. i just dont want it to go a month after my warranty is up

which way is the play? in and out or side to side?

1/8 inch is about right for in and in..side to side should be pretty tight though. not like to the point where it doesnt move at all but it shouldn't be the same as the side to side play
