connecting rod question....
i have some questions for the 7.3 gurus....
1. factory forged rods.... how much HP can they handle... injectors, turbo..... 2. factory forged that are heat treated and "shot peened???" dont know if that is what you call them but you know what i mean.... how much difference would that make???? 3. what is the difference between the crower and hypermax rods and others.... is there any difference if so how much just trying to get some more info as im building my "engine stand" motor.... |

Well I know there are some trucks out there with stock forged rods putting 650HP.
Its all in the tuning. Just like there are many PMR trucks out there pushing 450hp+ with no problems with the proper tuning on them. I'm not sure about the others. I have read that the forged heat treated rods are the strongest. I'm thinking ether crower or hypermax one or the other or maybe both are billet witch are not forged they are cut out witch is not as strong as forging something. But I am no expert. |
