Additives for cold
Hey guys im moving up to Flagstaff end of august, so im getting everything ready to go and making sure the truck is ready.
Do i need a fuel additive (anti gelling) for the colder months? Any you guys would recommend over others? I will not be able to plug in a block heater, but hopefully i wont need one. Anything else you guys can thing of that i will need for the cold weather?.....besides long underwear and sweatshirts!?

mine has started up every time here in chicago, even below zero weather, without the use of additives, i've never had issues with gelling, even with -35 wind chill for a few days, i use the block heater just to cut down on warm up time, but is not needed, i'd say make sure your batteries, alt, and starter are in good condition before you put them to the test of a cold winter night............

do a quick glow plug relay and air intake heater relay test to make sure they are both good. You NEED good batteries also. Have them tested. Just run power service additive in the white bottle for anti-gel. Good luck. My truck starts in below zero weather with no block heater. Its clacks and chugs for about 4 seconds then it smooths right out.
