DP vs. SCT

I have a 02 7.3. I have everything to lead up to getting a chip(gauges intake exhaust). I have heard good about both. I am looking to help my tranny shift points with the sct. How will my tranny do with the DP?

On a 7.3 go with a chip vs the SCT.

i would only run a chip with a 7.3L... so out of the two choices you have there i would go with the DP.... but you could also go with a TW or PHP chip...

custom tuned chips are great for the transmission.. but either way since your running a 4R100 i would upgrade your trans just a lil bit to help it live a lil longer.. my suggestion is doing a valvbody from either John woods or BTS(brains truck shop) then you can get the chip custom tuned to that valve body...

hope that helps bud.. if you have any question please feel free to ask

FWIW, a member on another forum bought an SCT tuned by DP for his 7.3L and was having some trans shifting issues. He sent the SCT back for a re-burn and ended up trading it for the F5 and said the F5 tunes (even though they were the same) had more power than the SCT.

The reason for that is with the 7.3, the chips have more access to PCM parameters than the SCT does
