fpr mod?

I am going to do the fpr mod. I dont have a gauge for it yet.
Is their an amount of shim I can do thats going to help but be with in the safe range of pressure with out the gauge to accurately tell me?
I read on one thread a guy used a 4mm allen head bolt cut it short and ground the head to .075 for a thickness and inserted the threads into the spring a bit. Not much to bottom out but just enough to hold it straight?

Look in the tech threads. Dont do this mod until you have a fuel pressure gauge. Youll thank me later.

can i hook a gauge to the drain valve as on a thread i saw? he hooked it up to that andopene the valve. When he got it where it was needed he removed the gauge but close the valve?

the tech thread was it for gauge install? i did not see one for the shim (fpr mod)
