New tranny finally going in!
Well as some of you may or may not have known, my transmission has been out for every bit of a month. Its been a very frustrating proces getting quotes and everything. Plus not being able to drive her at all
![]() Anyway my truck is in the shop and will have a new tranny come friday. Its costing me $2800 comes with a 3 year/100,000 mile waranty. The mechanic told me its a "jasper" transmission. Anybody know anthing about these? He said it costs 85 more than a ford tranny, its supposed to have beefier planatery gears and bilet shafts, any truth to this? He is also going to put on a bigger tranny cooler as well. Hope she pulls good! |

4r100 input shaft is around 200-300 bucks. Center shaft is around 600-700 bucks.. output shaft is about the same. Most likely it is just "hardened". Which is not a real upgrade when it comes to the shafts as far as I'm concerned. What planetary setup are they installing and what drum?

As far as the jasper setup, they are commonly known for failures.

Sorry man.
Just a simple programmer or plain jane TS chip can take out a jasper unit. More than a few of the upgraded jasper units have come apart around 400rwhp or so...
