Clipped in Cali........

Spent some time in Cali and wouldn't you know it, the day before I head back, I get clipped while parked on the side of a street while at the beach. I take partial blame for not folding my mirror in but oh well, the damage was done.

Now, how do I go about repairing this? I've been searching online all day with no luck. All I've found was the mirror glass. Can I replace just the mirror backing plate? Part #'s? It appears the only thing wrong with the plate is the three little white snap in clips.....can I replace just those? Part #'s?

Thanks for any help.

when i went to ford about the plastic cover where the mirror bolts to the door they said they only sell complete mirrors. i still have the broken driverside mirror and a good passenger side mirror i would sell for 50 bucks plus shipping. then you could take my drivers mirror and your drivers mirror and put them together and make a good one and then have a spare passenger side one. the only thing wrong with the drivers one i have is the plastic cover over the door bracket is broke.

Was it a "Hit and run" Kind of thing where you came back and found it that way? That wouldnt suprise me... Wrecking yard, Ebay... Or Stealership, and youll be buying a complete mirror any way you go. This kind of thing is exactly why I dont go any further south than Rincon to surf.

Yup, came back to my truck that way. Was at Lahaina's in PB.

I'll prolly end up just replacing the mirror glass and semi-permanently attaching the backing plate back on the housing, since I'm the only driver and I typically leave the mirror in one position. Till I can get some '08+ mirrors.
