tire help

I had one tire that was pretty bald on the inner right. Let e friend test the truck out last night, he wanted to see how much power it has and smoked the tires pretty hard. Now the steel belts are highly visible on the inside tire. I am afraid to drive it now. How hard is it to take these rear wheels off and take them take them to get new shoes?

Lower the air in the bad tire and drive slow, you should be fine. You should try to figure out why the one tire got that bad, and the rest are ok.

Most of the weight is on the inside dual they generally wear faster, this is also were you want to put your front tires when you rotate, especially if they need to be "cleaned up" a bit.

I understand that Big Tone, just wondering why that one tire got that bad, and the others did not. It would seem to me that for it to wear that much faster indicates that it was either a different size, or was overinflated as compared to the others. I have owned and driven duallies for a lot of years, and never had that happen as drastic as that. Just my natural curiosity

Gord.
